Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q. Where is my diary data saved? Is it secure?
All your diary text entries, mood logs, expenses, checklists, and images are stored 100% locally on your device's internal database. Grid Diary does not use a cloud syncing server by default, ensuring absolute privacy as your files are physically isolated.
Q. How do I transfer my diaries to a new phone?
We provide a local "Data Backup & Export" feature. You can generate a backup archive file in the app on your old device, send it to your new device via AirDrop, email, or a cloud drive, and then choose "Import Backup" on the new device to recover your logs.
Q. Will I lose my records if I delete the app?
Yes. Since the app operates strictly offline, deleting the app will prompt the OS to permanently wipe the local database files associated with it. Please make sure to export a manual backup file beforehand if you need to uninstall.
Q. Are there plans for automatic cloud sync or multiple device sync?
For total privacy and zero-maintenance server risks, we do not plans to host a proprietary sync server. However, we plan to support personal cloud integrations (such as iCloud, Google Drive, or WebDAV) later, letting you sync diaries securely inside your own private cloud drives.
